SYNOPSIS: 

 

Before deciding whether to marry Chandrapore's local magistrate, Adela Quested wants to discover the "real India" for herself.

 

Newly arrived from England, she agrees to see the

Marabar Caves with the charming Dr Aziz

and through this one harmless

event, the absurdity, hysteria and depth of

cultural ignorance is exposed that existed

in British India in the twenties.
