CONTEMPORARY CANTERBURY

Synopsis:

An updated and modern interpretation of twelve Canterbury Tales which were originally written in the 14th century and told as part of a story-telling contest by a group of pilgrims as they travelled together on a journey from Southwark to the shrine of Saint Thomas Becket at Canterbury Cathedral.

PLAYWRIGHT: Club Member Cherry Woodhouse adapted and wrote (with assistance from director Sean Lippett-Fall) twelve of the original tales recorded by Geoffrey Chaucer and added two additional tales of her own; 'The Plumbers Tale' & '

The Ghost's Tale' that were performed as an integral

part of the performance.

Cherry has written two previous club staged productions;
