MOTHER GOOSE
Synopsis:
The story of poor Mother Goose , who is befriended by Priscilla, the goose that lays golden eggs. Although suddenly rich, she finds that wealth cannot buy her beauty and in desperation, she finally swops Priscilla for the promise of youth and beauty, as offered by the evil Montezuma, King of the Aztecs. However, she soon realises that beauty is not everything and that she must get Priscilla back and after a visit to King & Queen Gander in Gooseland, Priscilla agrees to return and they all live happily ever after.
BHTC NOTES: At the last minute Christine Batsford could not appear as Tula, so club member Sue Lee played the part.
Strangely enough, Sue also carried out exactly
the same last minute cover, for the same part,
the next time Mother Goose was produced
by the club 10 years later, in 1987
PLAYWRIGHT:
This script was adapted by June Colledge from her
mother's (Marjorie Ristorie) professional script,
