Synopsis

Benjamin Braddock is ‘the graduate’.  He is 21, a brilliant student from a good neighbourhood with loving parents and endless prospects for a shiny, bright future.  He’s also in the throes of a deep existential crisis.

Feeling increasingly disconnected from the ‘plastic’ suburban world of his parents, Benjamin tenuously embarks on an affair with Mrs. Robinson – the sultry wife of his father’s business partner, before accidentally falling in love with her daughter, Elaine.

This dark comedy is a coming-of-age story that explores family dysfunction, crumbling marriages, disillusionment and love set against the backdrop of sunny California in the swinging 1960s.
