Synopsis
'The Ladykillers' is one of the best-loved British films of all time. The 1955 Ealing comedy was adapted into a stage play in 2011 by Graham Linehan, the co-writer of Father Ted, IT crowd, Black Books and Motherland.
Kind hearted, elderly Mrs Wilberforce lives alone apart from her parrot, General Gordon. All is not as it seems when she rents a room to the mysterious Professor Marcus so he and his amateur musician friends can practise. When the musicians arrive, however, it’s fairly obvious to all except innocent Mrs Wilberforce that this is no Mozart string quartet but a bunch of crooks. When she becomes wise to their ruse, Marcus concludes that there is only one way to keep the old lady quiet. With Mrs Wilberforce alone with five desperate men who will be forced to face the music?
